Born in Oregon and raised in Arizona, I've always been in search of inspiration and experience.  I joined the Marine Corps out of high school and spent four years stationed in New Orleans.  Surrounded by so many kind and amazing people amidst the rich culture of Louisiana, I came to view the variation in folks not as barriers in-between, but as bridges across the gap.  After returning to Arizona I studied music education at Arizona State University from 2000 to 2004, then began playing music full-time.  I've played in numerous bands in New Orleans and Arizona, from traditional ska, funk, reggae, and brass band, to rock, ska-punk, jazz & blues.  I was fortunate enough to record several albums since 2000, something to show my grandkids when I'm old and grey.  I still play blues harp now and then, but am focused on expanding my creative repertoire to include writing short stories, essays, and poetry, as well as video editing and audio recording.

Currently I am working on the restoration of a 1969 Volkswagen Bus (Westfalia Camper type), and as always am working on my tennis game.  My goal is a consistent and powerful first serve, and major action and wicked placement on my second.  Don't ask about my volleys, you don't want to know.

I'm always looking for new ways to exercise my mind and expand my capacity to learn and grow.  I greatly anticipate exploring many topics here on Hubpages, and am drawn to the unique opportunity presented with the exchange of knowledge by all of the contributors.

Peace, Love, Recycle.  Word to Big Bird.  ONE.
